My life with Round Hill Community Church began in 1976. Our family liked the concept of a “Community Church.” It was a positive way for us to get spiritually connected to this community and continue years of belonging to several different Christian Churches. Over 46 years I have had the pleasure of serving several times on the Board of Trustees, chaired (or co-chaired) several different committees with my husband [s]. Serving on the Pastoral Search Committee was extremely fascinating. With a background in theater and teaching, I took delight in directing Christmas Pageants and Chairing two fun Anniversary Celebrations. Leading the Youth Fellowship when my boys were involved was both challenging and rewarding in so many ways. Hooker and I found participation on the Benevolence and Outreach Committee certainly educational and a wonderful opportunity to get to know the other participants. Creating a few events for the Women’s Gathering tapped into several of my interests – reciting poetry, travel and shared personal stories. I am most pleased about having nurtured three sons and two grandsons. Travel is a passion on covid hold, gardening must wait for spring. For now, reading, listening to classical music, zooming with family, friends and church along with daily walks gives satisfaction to my daylight hours. We enjoy watching movies and theatrical productions on TV. I try to be as flexible as possible, grow from my mistake – tending to pick myself up and carry on after life’s unexpected, undesirable happenings. I lost my husband of 36 years to cancer in 1997. One year later, I was introduced by a mutual friend to Hooker O’Malley – an amazing miracle that turned into a beautiful relationship of 23 years (and counting). For relaxation, I sleep.
